For FinestKind, our visual effects team focused on transforming the filmed vessel into a historically accurate fishing boat through extensive CG enhancements and a complete digital recoloring process. Since the production didn’t shoot on an actual fishing boat, we carefully reworked the exterior to capture authentic textures, weathering, and period details that matched the real ships of that era. All interior cabin shots were filmed against green screen, allowing us to seamlessly integrate realistic ocean backdrops and dynamic lighting that matched the exterior. One of the most technically demanding sequences was the raft rescue, which required simulation of water motion, surface interaction, and spray to achieve a natural blend with the live-action performances.
